On August 2, 1993, 6-year-old Joseph Cerisano IV was sitting in the back seat with his little brother while their aunt, Marlene, was driving them to the Newark airport to pick up their mother. Marlene struck the back of a semi-truck that was parked on the shoulder with no warning indicators.
Marlene was severely injured, and Joseph was killed.
