On October 15, 2002, Dana Wood and her friend were killed on I-95 in Virginia. They were driving to East Carolina University when a truck driver, who neither slowed nor attempted to change lanes, struck Dana’s car, pushing it 1,500 feet down the highway.
He had already clocked nine hours behind the wheel on that day, and was driving on a suspended license.
